Sun-Earth Day 2007 presents: Living in the Atmosphere of the Sun

2007 LIVING IN THE ATMOSPHERE OF THE SUN, WEBCAST

Join us Feb 22, for the 2007 Living in the Atmosphere of the Sun

On February 22 2007, the NASA Digital Learning Network hosted one of this years exciting new Sun-Earth Day webcasts for "Living in the Atmosphere of the Sun". The enhanced and edited version of that webcast will be available from this website on March 9, 2007. During the show representatives from NASAs Goddard Space Flight Center, NASAs Langley Research Center, and the Parkland Magnet Middle School in Maryland discuss the Sun's impact on the Earth, Moon, Mars, and Beyond. The show also includes a demonstration of students creating a real "Space Weather Reports" from their classroom Space Weather Action Center.

Technical difficulties have delayed the posting of the archived webcast. We will post it as soon as possible in this location.

Guest scientists and educators included:

  • Eric Christian, NASA HQ heliosphere and Voyager Mission
  • Rich Vondrak, NASA Goddard (Solar Wind on Earth and Moon)
  • Jim Thieman, NASA Goddard (Jupiter)
  • Dave Hamilton, NASA Langley Atmospheric Scientist
  • Peter Smith, Univ. of AZ (Mars)
