Build a mariner's astrolabe and use it to figure your latitude.

Using a plastic protractor, drinking straw, string, tape, and small weight, you can build a device similar to the one used for centuries by sailors at sea to calculate their latitude. Complete instructions can be found at "At Home Astronomy".
