Madeleine (Mattie) Anastopulos received her B.S. in Physics from the University of Maryland, College Park in 2021. She is a space weather analyst with the Moon to Mars Space Weather Analysis office, helping to provide real-time analysis of the space weather environment to support NASA robotic missions and human exploration activities. In addition to her work as an analyst, Mattie serves as the spacecraft anomaly support lead where she assists spacecraft anomaly investigations by providing an assessment of the space weather environment. She also provides weekly reports summarizing space weather events of interest to the James Webb Space Telescope.
Prior to joining the Moon to Mars Space Weather Analysis Office, Mattie completed an internship within the Heliophysics Science Division under Dr. Yaireska Collado-Vega to assist in validating physics-based models that predict the location of the magnetopause. She also interned at the Joint Quantum Institute under Dr. Qudsia Quraishi to analyze fiber optic coupling equipment to assist in quantum frequency conversion during her time as an undergraduate at the University of Maryland.
